Glass Etching Classes now taking place at Sun King Brewery and Red Barn Arts Collective!

Voted “Best Class” by Indianapolis Monthly magazine, you’ll want to break out of your normal Sunday routine and join in on this DIY inspired Glass Etching Class!

During this 90 minute session, you’ll be introduced to a modern variation on glass etching using a Dremel rotary and a variety of mandala templates! You will have the opportunity to learn the basics of this art form and add a little something of your own as you etch designs onto a pint or wine glass!

From safety precautions and tips on how to control the rotary tool, to creating detailed designs on glass surfaces, this class will leave you with the skills to explore new ways of decorating a drinking glass, a plate or in fact any glass surface.

No experience or arts background necessary! All supplies and tools needed to complete the project are provided.

Private classes are available for groups of up to 16. Please email me at jamie@jamielockeart.com for more info!

My friends and I scheduled a workshop, and we had a blast. The workshop had everything ready for us, and we reviewed safety before we got into etching glass. Jamie made it fun and easy, and we tried out a variety of patterns and glassware. Everyone left with at least one completed piece. I use my glasses all the time!

Jamie, I know how much skill and energy goes into both your art work and your workshops, you made this fun and straightforward. Thank you, I recommend your workshop to anyone who would ask!

Jamie Locke is a master of her craft and taking a class with her was a really fun and eye-opening experience. I’d had the opportunity to see her working on a regular basis at the Ruckus Makerspace and her flawless use of Dremel tools, made the process of etching in glass, wood and other surfaces look almost easy. When I had the opportunity to take a glass etching class with her and use a Dremel tool for the first time, it really reinforced how skilled she is because it required a great deal of precision and spatial awareness, but also empowered me because I had to jump right in and was learning a new skill and Jamie provided really positive guidance throughout. I came away with a product that I felt fairly confident about and my interest was piqued as to how else I might be able to expand upon this new skill. Jamie is welcoming and humble and was a joy to learn from!
