During this 90 minute session, you'll be introduced to a modern variation on glass etching using a Dremel rotary tool and a variety of mandala templates! You will have the opportunity to learn the basics of this art form and add a little something of your own as you etch a design onto a pint glass. From safety precautions and tips on how to control the rotary tool, to creating detailed designs on glass surfaces, this class will leave you with the skills to explore new ways of decorating a drinking glass, a plate or in fact any glass surface. Reason #345 of why I love being a RUCKUS Makerspace Resident Maker, the opportunity to work with fellow resident makers to bring ideas to life right on the spot! Wyatt Reed over at Unbranded has this magical printer (DTG) that can print any design you can dream up onto t-shirts, glass, wood, paper...just about anything! Within 5 minutes of sending my logo to him, my shirt was printed and ready to be proudly worn at our First Friday event last night! It's like fashion on demand! I've been working with him on new t-shirt designs (think full color mandalas!) for my next t-shirt release! He's been fantastic to work with and I highly recommend connecting with him for any t-shirt needs you have, even if it's a one off! Great prices and super speedy service...and even better, Wyatt is a gem! πŸ™‚ ... See MoreSee Less

It's #MarchMeetTheMaker! Over the next month I'll be taking part in this Instagram challenge designed to give a little insight into who I am and what it is that I do! πŸ™‚ If you're a maker, I hope you'll join in! I'd love to check out the story behind you and your business!

So, this is me, mother to two amazing teens, who just turned 18 and 16 (gasp!) and wife to Aussie singer/songwriter/creative, Martine Locke. I currently reside in Indianapolis where I spend a good chunk of time in my studio at RUCKUS Makerspace. When I'm not carving mandalas, I enjoy traveling, biking, playing ukulele, lifting, and gathering with friends for any and all shenanigans. I'm pretty sure I could eat nothing but eggs, guacamole, black beans and plantains for the rest of my days. I am forever an optimist. My superpower is my ability to spring out of bed at 5:30am with a smile on my face and rebel yell (much to my wife's dismay)...though my super-superpower is being able to wait until 5:30am. πŸ˜‰ You're welcome, Martine. ❀
Photo credit to the lovely Emily Shipman over at 4 Minds Creative! Be sure to follow me over on Instagram (@jamielocke_art) for the rest of my story during the month of March! πŸ˜‰
