Somedays I need to set work aside and bring to life the ideas/designs I carry around in my head. ***All classes are now SOLD OUT! Looking forward to seeing you all on December 2nd! ❤️
Come join me Sunday, December 2nd for this year's last Glass Etching Class at Sun King Brewing Company!
Classes are limited to 8 participants per session and tend to fill up quickly! I'll be creating holiday-themed mandalas and designs for this special holiday edition! You'll walk away with two 12-oz glasses which would make a fantastic handmade gift(s) for the holidays! 😉
"Jamie Locke is a master of her craft and taking a class with her was a really fun and eye-opening experience. I’d had the opportunity to see her working on a regular basis at the Ruckus Makerspace and her flawless use of Dremel tools, made the process of etching in glass, wood and other surfaces look almost easy. When I had the opportunity to take a glass etching class with her and use a Dremel tool for the first time, it really reinforced how skilled she is because it required a great deal of precision and spatial awareness, but also empowered me because I had to jump right in and was learning a new skill and Jamie provided really positive guidance throughout. I came away with a product that I felt fairly confident about and my interest was piqued as to how else I might be able to expand upon this new skill. Jamie is welcoming and humble and was a joy to learn from!" -Emily Scott ... See MoreSee Less

The making of the Greeks On 16th Carved Mandala! It's been a big two weeks and installing this piece was the icing on the cake...or, the pineapple on the pizza! 😉 Such a satisfying feeling seeing my work in it's new home! If you're in Indy or will be visiting, be sure to stop in and check it out, along with all the other magnificent art, inside and out, that this place hosts! I hear the pizza is pretty fantastic too! 😉 Big thanks to Ryan and Rebecca Kramer Kitto, so loved working with you both! And! Congratulations...looking forward to the grand opening! <3 ... This carved mandala, measuring a little over 3 feet by 6 feet is my largest to date...and after 47 hours carving time, it is now complete and ready for install tomorrow morning! And this guy...so awesome. Despite the huge stack of tickets he purchased to win this mandala, his ticket number wasn’t called. But! Not wanting to throw in the towel, he thought it would be worth asking the woman who had won it if he could buy it from her! Seeing how much he loved this piece, she happily obliged. I mean...wow. The awesome thing (aside from that amazing moment) is that Ryan had commissioned me last month to create one of the largest pieces (which I start tomorrow!) I’ve carved to date for his restaurant that will be opening early November! Talk about feeling the love. ❤️Greeks On 16th, so glad to have been in the right place at the right time and that I have a friend in you!
Interested in trying out a Pi Style Meditation Bench? Specifically, one made and carved by yours truly? 😉 Come by my studio tomorrow evening during your First Friday outings and give this bench a go! If you meditate, this bench can be a game changer. And if not, this may be just the thing to set you on your way! While this bench is the only one in stock (and available for purchase tomorrow evening should you fall in love!) I’m now taking commission orders (limited to 10) for the month of November. PM me for details. 🤗❤️ ... See MoreSee Less
What a stunner of a day at the USA TODAY Network Wine & Food Experience with the fantastical people at Grateful & Co. House! I spent the day doing some live carving, meeting lovely people and feeling so very grateful for the opportunity to do so! Thank you to those who stopped by with kind words and for claiming a wine glass, T or carved mandala! I appreciate your support, smiles and cheers! Thank you to Grateful and Co. for having me, you are some oh so fine humans!
Coming up this Saturday! I was invited by Grateful & Co. (lifestyle arm of USA TODAY) to create a mandala in their space during the IndyStar Wine & Food Experience happening in Clay Terrace! I’ll be carving this piece live on site and will have other carved mandalas and etched wine glasses (of course!) on hand! If you’ll be attending, do stop by, say hello and watch this piece come to life!
And, according to Indy Star, I'm one of best things to do/see/eat (please don't eat me!) while at the event! 🙂
What an incredible week in Italy! Thank you for all the must see suggestions while we were in Rome and Florence! Another year and another Carved mandala off to the Indiana Youth Group (IYG) Art Auction, now in it’s 18th year! I’m thrilled to help support the work the organization is doing for LGBTQ youth of Indianapolis. Money raised during the auction goes toward providing programming and safe environments to empower teens through social and leadership programs, support services and community service. The art auction takes place August 11th at CCIC.
You’ll be able to plant your foot in a catfish’s mouth. Commune with torch-wielding cat mermaids sporting “MOM” tattoos. Cross from Fountain Square to White River State Park in less time than it takes you to unlock a Bird scooter (which could be back now, by the way).

If you've been following along for a while, you know that I love to create on and with a wide variety of surfaces and materials...but, never did it occur to me that I would have the opportunity to create on a manhole cover! I was one of 15 artists selected to transform a manhole cover as part of the Citizens Energy Group DigIndy Project, a 28-mile tunnel system that help to ensure our waterways are safe for all.
This was by far the heaviest (250 pounds!) canvas and definitely the most challenging in terms of surface and paints, which are formulated for streets...I had to work quickly as the paint dries in a flash! It took approximately 22 hours to complete...but thankfully, I can share this 1-minute video to show you the entire process!
Flourish Mandala represents all of life not only thriving but flourishing when given the opportunity to access clean and safe waterways.
The manholes be placed along the cultural trail on August 2nd! Be sure to check them all out while you're out running, walking, biking, skating, dancing? along the Cultural Trail next week! ... See MoreSee Less

Completed panel for the DigIndy Art Project First Friday Exhibit which opens this coming Friday at the Harrison Center! DigIndy is a 28 mile tunnel system that will help ensure our waterways are safer for generations to come! Forty two local artists were given the task to create wooden replicas of manhole covers with designs that were inspired by the beauty of area waterways. During the reception, a selected jury will choose 15 designs that the artists will reproduce on actual manholes. You’ll be able to see the transformed manholes as you cruise along the Cultural Trail beginning July 25th!
